Niederdörfli at the airport — old town flair meets modern architecture
In close cooperation with the architects of Dreicon AG, a staff restaurant was realized in the Circle at Zurich Airport, which is coordinated down to the smallest detail in terms of interior design and lighting technology.
The basic lighting structure is integrated into the open building technology and both the seating areas and the café bar can be set in scene with freely swiveling spotlights. For structural reasons, ceiling-related lighting was not used in the area of the atrium, so that daylight can penetrate unhindered into the atrium. Elegant wall lights in an urban style underline the desired old town alley atmosphere and invite you to linger. This concept is continued along the long seating tables in the café area, where it also accentuates the fresh color tone of the walls.
Each decorative light has been checked and selected with great care and extensive sampling. The linear glass lamp embedded in the wooden structure has been developed specifically for the room divider and merges with the design of the room divider. The connection to the light is guided precisely within the filigree metal struts in order to avoid visible cables. The ribbed glass structure gives the lamp an elegant touch with a depth effect.
The entire circle was implemented according to LEED Platinum and the tenant fit-out for the restaurant also had to comply with specified basic values during planning and implementation.
