DK Architects has designed a kitchen extension for a private residence based on a restrained, natural color-material concept: A solid Portuguese marble island in the center, with contrasting oak cabinetry as the backdrop: fluted details alternating with slats and single dark elements. The expansive organic light fixture above the island creates a wonderful interaction with the linear kitchen elements.

The large skylight and glazing to the terrace enhance the play of light and shadow - The design suggests perfect simplicity and surprises with refined details at any time.
