Michael Becker was born in 1969 in Munich, Germany.
He studied architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and subsequently worked in the office Köppl and Maser, Munich.
In 1998 he founded his own studio in Kempten.
Since 2008 he has been invited as a jury member for various competitions of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects and was a guest lecturer at the chair of Prof. Werner Girsberger, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, in the winter semester 2008/2009.
In 2012 was appointed a member of the Convention of the Federal Foundation for Building Culture and in 2019 in the BDA - Association of German Architects.
Since the founding of the studio, numerous projects have been created in recent years, the quality of which is guaranteed by publications and awards.
In 2010 | 2011, the Iler Hydroelectric Power Plant was awarded both the German Architecture Prize for Concrete, the German Commercial Building Prize pbb, the international Lichtenstein Prize for Sustainable Building in the Alps and a German Architecture Prize award.
Also in 2010, the Glass Competence Center South Germany received a recognition to the German Commercial Building Award pbb.
The KL house received the Knauf Diamond Award in 2008 and the Velux Award Germany Switzerland in 2006.
In 2005, the Haus Z was awarded the Holzbaupreis Allgäu, in 2002 the Bavarian State Prize for trend-setting ecological residential construction, and in 2001 the Bavarian Homeland Prize, which was also awarded to the Haus W in 2001.
In 2003, House H received recognition at both the German Architecture Prize and the German Timber Construction Prize and was awarded the Allgäu Timber Construction Prize in 2002.
